Regis Matimati

SECRETARY: Regis Matimati (MPH) is the Executive Director of Africa AHEAD, and is currently completing his PhD in the dynamics of Community mobilisation in Africa. His first contact with the work of Zimbabwe AHEAD was when in 1997 he was the Nurse in Charge of Nyamidzi Clinic and saw the CHC approach in action. He was convinced that health clubs were successful in uniting Communities and sought to join Zimbabwe AHEAD. In 2007 he started as a Project Officer in Mutare with notable success in preventing cholera through CHCs. Since then he and has risen up through the ranks to Programme Manager, then Acting Director for a few years whilst obtaining his Masters degree.  In 2013 he was appointed Executive Director when the organisation merged with Zimbabwe AHEAD and continues to head the organisation up to now 2026.
