Ngoni Conilius Chirindo: Public Health Engineer for Mutare and Chiredzi
A Zimbabwean Engineer and Innovator, he is currently a part of the COVID 19 response team for Africa Ahead as a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Engineer covering Mutare and Chiredzi Urban. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from the Chinhoyi University of Technology, Zimbabwe, coupled together with an MSc in Water Engineering from Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences (PAUWES), Tlemcen, Algeria.
He has several years of experience working either as a Water Engineer and WASH Engineer/ Consultant in the Quasi-Government Entities, Private Sector and Non-Governmental Organizations. His work experience covers: Urban and Rural Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) provision according to WHO standards; Surface and submersible solar-powered DC and AC Pump systems designs and Installations; Installation of water and sewer distribution pipelines; Rehabilitation of hand pumps and centrifugal pumps; Rehabilitation of boreholes and wells, protection of springs, designing and installation of water treatment plants; Designing of earth dams, lined and earth canals; Sprinkler, center pivot, furrow, drip, and microjet Irrigation systems designing, installations and management; Drainage management; Farm equipment repair, calibration and maintenance; land preparation; Plumbing, irrigation and infrastructure spares procurement; designing and zoning of farm infrastructure. Also, he has vast skills in leading an enthusiastic professional technical team of engineers and artisans, a strong understanding of site health and safety needs, progress reporting and human capital training. His career and research interests will remain in the field of water in Africa and beyond.
