Action Against Hunger (ACF) and its implementing partners Nutrition Action Zimbabwe (NAZ) and Africa AHEAD Zimbabwe (AA) are addressing the multisector acute needs of the most vulnerable population affected by the ongoing protracted, COVID-19, drought and socioeconomic crisis in Zimbabwe.
Objectives:
- To complement the food assistance strategy generally designed to cover the lean season and few months ahead, whereas the needs will persist throughout the year and beyond.
- To minimize the effects of the crisis on the most vulnerable households and prevent negative coping mechanisms jeopardizing future well-being and resilience capacities, especially of women, children, youth and the chronically ill
- To use this crisis as an opportunity to trigger social and behavior changes related to food diversity, nutrition and hygiene promotion.
- To build upon past experience with both implementing partners, to scale-up interventions and have meaningful impacts, while contributing to the localization of aid.
